Leucorium-50™ – Leucovorin Calcium Injection IP 50 mg/5 mL Leucorium-50™ contains Leucovorin Calcium (Calcium Folinate) equivalent to Leucovorin 50 mg in 5 mL. Leucovorin, also known as folinic acid, is a reduced form of folate used in specific therapeutic protocols under medical supervision. Leucovorin Calcium Injection is commonly used as leucovorin rescue following high-dose methotrexate therapy** to help reduce the toxic effects of folate antagonism. It may also be used in the management of toxicity associated with certain folic-acid antagonists. In oncology protocols, leucovorin is also used in combination with **fluorouracil (5-FU)** for certain indications, according to the treatment regimen prescribed by an oncologist. - Leucorium-50™ (Leucovorin Calcium Injection IP 50 mg/5 mL) may be indicated for: Leucovorin rescue following high-dose methotrexate therapy. Reduction of toxicity associated with impaired methotrexate elimination or overdose of folic-acid antagonists. Use in combination with 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) in certain colorectal cancer treatment regimens. Treatment of megaloblastic anemia due to folic acid deficiency when oral therapy is not feasible.
